Ingredients for Ginger Chutney Recipe:

  • 100 grams of ginger
  • 40 dried red chilies
  • 1 tablespoon urad dal
  • 100 grams of jaggery
  • 50 grams of tamarind
  • 1 tablespoon chana dal
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 6 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • ¼ small spoon of fenugreek
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 3/2 large spoon of salt
  • ½ cup water

For tempering:

  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 2 dry red chilies (broken)
  • ½ small spoon urad dal
  • ½ small spoon chana dal
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Some curry leaves (chopped)

Method to make the Ginger Chutney Recipe

  1. First, take a large pan and heat 3 large spoons of oil in it. Now add 100 grams of chopped ginger and roast it for 2 to 3 minutes. Now put 5 cloves of garlic in it and roast until golden. Now remove it and keep it aside.
  2. Now add 3 large spoons of oil to the pan, add a large spoon of urad dal, a large spoon of chana dal, a large spoon of coriander seeds, 1/4 small spoon of fenugreek and 1 small spoon of cumin, and roast well.
  3. Now add dry red chilies to it and roast it on low flame for a while. Now turn off the gas and let it cool.
  4. Now put it in the mixer jar and make a powder, now put roasted ginger and garlic in the same mixer jar and blend it, now it will be ready as a thick paste now add 50 grams of tamarind, salt, and 100 grams of jaggery in it and blend it well.
  5. Now add water to it and blend it well. Your Ginger Chutney Recipe is ready. Now we will take it out in a utensil.
  6. Now we will take a tempering pan and heat 2 large spoons of oil in it, and now add 1 small spoon of mustard seeds, half a small spoon of urad and chana dal, a pinch of asafoetida, 2 dry red chilies (broken) and some curry leaves (chopped).
  7. Now put tempering on the ginger chutney. And serve it.
